Product Description

The Move ‎– Split Ends
United Artists Records ‎– UST 5666-C
Reel-To-Reel, 7 ½ ips, ¼", 4-Track Stereo, 7" Cine Reel, Album, Compilation

Possibly the best release by the band in their history.

Although identified as a compilation, it actually reflects a variation of their release - Message From The Country - with the addition of five singles-only tracks that were not previously available in album form (Do Ya, Chinatown, Tonight, Down On The Bay, California Man) replacing tracks that were considered more 'genre' inspired (Don't Mess Me Up - Elvis; Ben Crawley Steel Company - Johnny Cash; My Marge - British Music Hall).

It provides the listener with a more complete picture of the best material recorded by the partnership of Roy Wood and Jeff Lynne during the last two years of the band's existence (before they morphed into the Electric Light Orchestra). The singles included were later covered by Todd Rundgren and Cheap Trick.

Very Rare sealed vintage R2R - perfect condition with no flaws
